RIGOROUS SIMULATION OF DIFFRACTION RADIATION EFFECT: ELECTRODYNAMICS OF PERIODIC STRUCTURES PLACED IN THE SURFACE WAVE FIELD OF DIELECTRIC WAVEGUIDES
摘要
The method of the exact absorption condition (EAC-method) has been applied to simulate and analyze the processes involving the effective conversion of surface waves into outgoing waves, i.e., to the waves that carry away a specified fraction of the supplied energy in a prescribed direction. Of the most instances so far considered, the periodic structure acts as a key functional element in this type of near-to-far field conversion. Meanwhile, the present study is focused on the finite periodic structure placed in the field of finite dielectric waveguide, thereby allowing us to compute those characteristics whose analysis is complicated within the frame work of other widely used approaches.
