COMPACT-SIZE POLARIZATION ROTATORS ON THE BASIS OF IRISES WITH RECTANGULAR SLOTS
摘要
Diminutiveness of structural components of antenna feeders is among sine qua non requirements which are made in the course of developing modern radar facilities of civil and military applications. The paper presents results of investigating the limiting characteristics of promising compact-size electromagnetic wave polarization plane rotators designed on the basis of structures characterized by dihedral symmetry. Structures of the kind are formed by resonant irises with rectangular slots. Multiparametric optimization is applied to determine the limiting characteristics of the devices for various frequency ranges. The range of application of the rotators is analyzed. Structure designs are suggested which are capable of rotating the polarization plane by the angles 90 ° and 45 ° with acceptable magnitudes of the reflection coefficients within a given frequency range. These structures make it possible to extend the set of components for the transmitting and receiving equipment intended for providing a given phase separation of radio signals, their phase correction or polarization compensation.
