PHASED MIMO RADAR USING RECONFIGURABLE HARDWARE FOR TARGET CHARACTERIZATION
摘要
Advanced signal processing algorithms and advanced antenna design are main target areas for modern communication and radar system. Engineers are mainly working in these two key areas to serve society better. Single antenna system reformed towards multi-antenna systems to get the advantage of signal-to-noise ratio improvement. The phased MIMO technology is one of the recent trends in multi-antenna research which enjoys benefits of two latest technologies like MIMO and phased array. Advantage of diversity gain of MIMO and advantage of coherent processing gain of phase array system are targeted to combine in a single system which is called phased MIMO system. Multiple antenna arrays are allowed to overlap to generate multiple beams from array system. This is the key design consideration of phased MIMO system. In this research phased MIMO radar is focused to develop using reconfigurable hardware which adds additional flexibility in the system.
