THE MODIFIED BRAGG WAVEGUIDE WITH ADDITIONAL LAYERS

ABSTRACT

The modified planar Bragg waveguide with additional layers is considered. Dispersion equations are obtained for the TE and TM radiation polarizations. Analysis of the modified Bragg waveguide dispersion characteristics is performed for different values of the system parameters. It is considered spatial distribution of the electric field longitudinal component in the waveguide channel for different values of thickness and permittivity of the additional layers. It is determined that availability of additional layers at the boundaries of the Bragg waveguide periodic cladding allows increasing the slow wave field intensity in the center of the waveguide channel and, as a consequence, increasing the interaction impedance while using such structures in the terahertz band beam-wave interaction systems.
