Dispersion Characteristics of Multi-Step Open Slow-Wave Systems of Finite Width: Analysis

ABSTRACT

Here is presented a solution to the problem of waveguide-excitation of a multi-step, open, comb-type slow-wave-system, with thin bars, limited in width by ideally conducting metallic sides. Formula for the reflecting factor of dominant wave and the spectral density of field have been obtained. The analysis of scattered field pattern served as a background for investigating the dispersion properties of slow-wave systems with different geometries. Calculation and experimental result have been compared.
