Conformal Mapping Based Analysis of High-Frequency Fields in Periodic Structures

ABSTRACT

A hybrid, numeric-analytical method is suggested for analyzing high-frequency (HF) wave fields with the use of conformal mapping. Closed form solutions (in contrast to infinite series) have been obtained for the fields, that allow to rigorously describe singularities in the vicinity of sharp edges (ribs) of metal elements. The conformal mappings are inverted numerically. The technique is presented through the simple example of calculating EM fields in periodic structures supporting in-phase oscillations.
