On the Steepness of Output Voltage in High-Quality Amplifiers of Sound Signals

ABSTRACT

The maximum steepness of signals in high-quality digital sources of sound programs has been determined. A formula for the steepness of output voltage in such signal amplifiers has been obtained which correlates its power, load impedance, and sampling frequency of the source. Recommendations on the calculation of the rise time of the transient power amplifier response taking into consideration phychophysiological features of human hearing have been given.
