摘要
Discussed in the paper are the model distribution functions of raindrop sizes which are most often used to analyze the operation of microwave radar and/or communication systems under rain conditions. It is shown that a great majority of the distribution functions fail to make an adequate account of the number of small raindrops. A new model function is suggested which should be useful in the shorter wavelength part of the millimeter waveband (and at terahertz frequencies), since it takes the small-size raindrop component into account.
