Seasonal Dynamics of Microbiological Cycle of Methane in the Water of Littoral Shallow Zones of the Rybinsk Reservoir

ABSTRACT

The cycle of methane was investigated in the water of shallow zones of the Rybinsk reservoir. It has been found that O2 uptake for CH4 oxidation accounted for 10% of BOD1, whereas the uptake of organic carbon for its synthesis was 3.5−9.7 μg C/(L·day).
