ABSTRACT

The experimental test bench used for the studies of laminarized profiles is described. The redesign of the test bench required for the observation of turbulent flows and the measuring techniques developed for the studies of the flow structure are considered. The data on the flow structure observed behind the turbulence generators are presented for two kinds of profile packs installed at the outlet of the working section. The decay laws obtained at the Institute of Technical Thermal Physics for the turbulence behind the grids are confirmed for the flow with acoustic disturbances that are caused by the separation of the flow from the trailing edges of the blades and propagate in the upstream direction.
