SIGNAL DETECTION IN A RADIATING NONLINEAR ELECTROMAGNETIC CRYSTAL

摘要

Single-frequency excitation of the structure by a planar wave incident from free space is investigated. A boundary electrodynamic problem for a field inside the electromagnetic crystal and a nonlinear problem for currents and voltages at nonlinear two-pole networks are solved jointly. The radiating elements are described approximately without consideration of their reciprocal coupling. The results of numerical and analytical study of the detection of a signal, produced by free space wave, are presented. The structure is optimized by the criterion of conversion loss minimum. It is shown that the radiating nonlinear electromagnetic crystal in the detection regime may have a high directivity, not related to its geometrical dimensions.
