TRANSIENT MODELING OF CPL FOR TERRESTRIAL APPLICATION, PART B: RESERVOIR MODELING IMPROVEMENT
摘要
For a Capillary Pumped Loop (CPL), the thermodynamic reference is located in the reservoir. The model of the specific reservoir design, cooled by the subcooled liquid flowing to the evaporator, of the CPL for terrestrial application (CPLTA) is improved in this paper. Indeed, the previous model [Delalandre et al., 2011] supposed a constant temperature, and so a constant pressure too, at the top of the two-phase reservoir. The present improved model allows taking into account the variations of this saturation temperature. Furthermore, it allows considering the real input variable at this reservoir: the heat power of control. The influence of this improvement highlights a better modeling of the transient thermohydraulic phases, especially for the pressures. A numerical study is also given to identify the main phenomena governing the transient dynamics occurring inside the reservoir. The first results show that compressibility and phase change are negligible compared with input of subcooling liquid, with ethanol as the working fluid.
