FROUDE MODEL OF IDEAL PROPELLER IN NONUNIFORM FLOW
摘要
The Froude model or the model of an active section of an ideal propeller for a nonuniform incoming flow is discussed in relation to incompressible inviscid fluid approximation. It is assumed that the nonuniform incoming flow can be formed by a viscous wake of a body placed in front of the active section. This allows the problem of propeller interaction with aircraft components to be solved more accurately. The optimal distribution of the pressure difference across the active disk of the propeller is obtained, which gives the minimum of the supplied power needed during cruise flight. As an example, a propeller with the optimum pressure difference placed in the rear part of an airship shows a decrease in the consumed power by more than 20% in comparison with a propeller with a uniform pressure difference.
