In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Begell House we are pleased to provide this special volume (Volume 29) of Multiphase Science and Technology (MST), in honor of Dr. William Begell, the founder of Begell House. This special volume also commemorates the landmark contributions made by Professor Geoffrey F. Hewitt of Imperial College London, UK, the founding Editor-in-Chief of MST.
During Prof. Hewitt's outstanding research career, he did pioneering work, addressed approaching challenges, and published an epoch of papers in various fields of chemical, mechanical and nuclear engineering; heat and mass transfer, multiphase flow and contributed to numerous discoveries and disciplinary works. Prof. Hewitt is the winner of the Global Energy Price Award, Donald Kern Award, Max Jaboc Award, Luikov Award and various other honors. His friendship and professional relationship with Dr. Begell started at Hemisphere Publishing and lead later to Begell House formation, contributing vast amounts of material that covered a wide range of engineering topics and remains to date the core engineering collection of Begell House.
Over the years we have made enormous strides to bring the most interesting material to our readers, and presented here are a selection of reviews and articles on multiphase phenomena that have high citations and were published under the editorship of Prof. Hewitt.
Volume 29 includes contributions published by Begell House and edited by Prof. Hewitt. These contributions include eminent achievements and technological advances in the field of Multiphase Science and Technology.
