EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE EVAPORATION OF A MONODISPERSE DROPLET STREAM FOR VARIABLE AIR VELOCITY
摘要
The evaporation of one-component monodispersed microdroplets with a size of approximately 90 μm was investigated. For this purpose, a droplet stream was embedded in the airflow of a wind tunnel. The velocity magnitude of the laminar air flow was variable within the range of 010 m/s. The evaporation rates of different liquids, as well as the dependence of the evaporation rate on the surrounding air flow, were investigated with this setup by measuring droplet diameters with interferometric laser imaging droplet sizing in two different positions of the droplet stream. For this purpose, the accuracy of laser induced fluorescence was increased by two orders of magnitude for ensemble-averaged measurements. In addition, vapor density profiles in between consecutive acetone droplets were measured using planar laser induced fluorescence.
