Glycoproteins of Gastroduodenal Mucus in Ulcer and Effects of Fenugreek Extract
摘要
The comparative evaluation of glycoprotein composition in gastric and duodenal mucosal protective parietal layer in the norm and at modeling of ulcer was carried out in rats, as well as effects of fenugreek extract introduction to animals with ulcerative lesions. In the control (norm), the total level of glycosylation of mucosal glycoproteins in the stomach is 1.7 times higher, than that it is in the duodenum. Under acute stress model of ulceration, a decrease in hexosamine (1.4 times), galactose (2.2 times), fucose (1.3-fold), and an increase in Nacetylneuraminic acid (NANA) (3.6 times) in the stomach mucus was observed. Under cysteamine model of ulceration, an increase in galactose (2.7 times), NANA (2.4 times), fucose (1.8-fold), but significant decrease in the amount of hexosamines (3 times) compared to the control occurred in duodenal mucus. The protective effect of fenugreek extract on the glycoprotein composition in the mucosal parietal layer of the stomach and duodenum has been proved using ulceration model in rats.
