Life in Contexts, and Beyond
摘要
In today's world, "life" is discussed in many different contexts. It only follows that individuals and societies face "life", or if you will excuse a rather rough expression, treat "life" in a myriad of ways. Consequently, the ethical thoughts that people have about "life" are difficult to sum up in any one way. In fact, it is nearly impossible to make a unified statement about "life". In this paper, (I) I would like to take a look at the vast array of understandings about "life", mainly in the current situation in Japan. Next, (II) I would like to suggest a simple model in order to manage these various understandings. Finally, I intend to use this model as a clue for (III) constructing new ethical discourses about "life".
