ABSTRACT

Problems in organizing the compilation of the Red List of algae of the Ukraine are discussed. Some of the issues discussed are: sources of information, development and implementation of research projects, promoting unification of methodological approaches to sampling and sample processing, and selection of algal species for Red Lists and Red Data Books. The author's suggestions and proposals may be taken into account during preparation of a special manual on methods and techniques of sozological (conservational) activities.
