Abstract

This paper is focused on consideration of deflection of particle path near the wall. Particle is modeled by a rigid sphere suspended on the thread. Systematic experiments were done to obtain trajectories for different size of spheres. Mathematical analysis led to correlation describing wall influence on particle movement. This correlation can be subsequently used for two-phase flow modeling in boundary layer.
