Abstract

The current paper presents theoretical and experimental work, which was performed at the Institute of Thermal Engineering (ITW) to describe solids distribution and heat transfer in circulating fluidized bed boilers.
The evaluation of data from experiments done to measure solids distribution along the reactor's height is demonstrated. These data were used to supply parameters for the solids distribution model of a CFB-simulator, which has been developed and extended at ITW during the last years. Some critical aspects applied to the evaluation of experimental data got from experiments are presented, being necessary for sufficient modeling of solids distribution in CFB-risers.
