Abstract

Mixing of two turbulent streams with different velocities and at different temperatures in a T-junction geometry was studied computationally by using the LES (Large Eddy Simulation), RANS approach (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) and a zonal HLR (hybrid LES/RANS) method. The results obtained are analysed along with the experimental investigation performed by Hirota et al. (2010).
