Turbulent 3D natural convection flows and interaction with surface radiation in air-filled cavity

摘要

A DNS using spectral methods, parallel computing and code coupling has been performed for the interaction between surface radiation and turbulent natural convection in an air-filled cavity at RaH = 3 × 1010. Time-averaged fields and the corresponding rms are computed over 16 time units. Heat transfer and flow structure are analysed. Numerical results are compared with experimental data obtained at slightly higher RaH, 4 × 1010, and qualitative agreement is observed.
