RADIOMETER FOR METEOROLOGICAL MEASUREMENTS WITH ACCURATE CALIBRATION BY THE SKY BRIGHTNESS TEMPERATURE
ABSTRAKT
Passive atmospheric sensing in microwave wave range is one of the most demanded methods of the environmental remote sensing. The highest priority task is how to provide the radiometric measurements with straightforward and cost-efficient technical solutions and procedures. In this work, we suggest a user-friendly portable 3-cm radiometric unit for meteorological measurements. The radiometer is basically a modulator with modified input components and upgraded calibration procedure. The radiometric unit will be calibrated using a new accurate technique of measuring sky brightness temperature. A low-noise down converter has been employed to improve radiometer performance.
