ABSTRAKT

This paper presents simulation results of an ultra wideband microwave imaging radar system, using confocal imaging reconstruction algorithm for detection of metallic bar embedded in concrete pillar. The dielectric properties of the material (concrete and metallic bar) were chosen to mimic those of the real world. Successful detection and localization of different shapes of metallic bars of diameter as small as 4 mm are demonstrated in the case of monostatic configuration.
