COMPRESSION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSES WITH PIECEWISE LINEAR LAWS OF AMPLITUDE AND FREQUENCY MODULATION

ABSTRAKT

In the paper, the topical problem of compression of frequency modulated electromagnetic pulses propagating in waveguide sections with group velocity dispersion is analyzed. It is shown that the input pulse for dispersive elements of the kind can be specified by piecewise approximations of the amplitude and frequency modulation laws rather than precise dependences. The time interval over which the input pules amplitude and frequency change according to a liner law can exceed the characteristic period of field oscillations by a factor of several tens or even hundreds.
