ABSTRAKT

A semi-analytical method is suggested for determining diffraction characteristics of a plane linearly polarized electromagnetic wave incident upon a circular inhomogeneous isotropic magnetodielectric cylinder, with the constitutive parameters of which being dependent on the radial coordinate. The method is based on the construction of special solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Riccati equation and provides the possibility to use a unified approach to investigating processes of the wave diffraction by both radially-stratified and continuous magnetodielectric cylindrical irregularities. Efficiency of the suggested method is illustrated by several examples of numerical solution of the diffraction problems for circular inhomogeneous isotropic dielectric cylinders.
