Errors in Bearing the Low-Altitude Millimeter-Wave Sources over Terrene
ABSTRAKT
The results of the experimental study and the methods of the theoretical interpretation of the errors in measuring the elevation and the azimuth bearing angle for the millimeter-wave sources (in the Ka and V bands) over the terrene are examined. The altitudes of the transmitter antenna above the surface were up to tens meter and the distances to the receiver were 5-6 km. The examples of the errors versus transmitter height are presented for the different types of terrain. The effects of the multipath propagation and diffraction by the details of relief and the obstacles of the different nature were analyzed. The essential distinction in the propagation of the millimeter and centimeter wave over terrene is ascertained.
