Development of a System for Guaranteed User Access to the ATM Network

Yu. V. Sanin
S. V. Snigirev

ABSTRAKT

A model of a system for guaranteed user access to the ATM-technology network, which is a system of preventive traffic control, is proposed. This system ensures fulfillment of service quality requirements for connections and is optimal for the limitations analyzed below. The access system makes it possible to design high-rate switching ATM equipment with high scalability (in terms of the number of simultaneously established connections via a switch port) and minimal implementation complexity, which decreases its cost and increases its reliability.
