ABSTRAKT

In the paper, there are experimentally investigated quasi-optical resonator having a shape of dielectric body of revolution (full-sphere, cylinder, disk) or of a hollow metal sphere in which one half is replaced by a plane metal mirror. The excitation conditions through a coupling slot in the mirror and the characteristics of their oscillations both of whispering gallery type and of beam type are defined in the millimeter wave range. A comparative analytical treatment is carried out for both of these resonators and oscillations in them.
