ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS AND WAVES NEAR APERTURE ANTENNAS OF LARGE ELECTRICAL SIZES

ABSTRAKT

The solution of the outer problem of electrodynamics on radiation of aperture antennas in the near- and intermediate zones is used to theoretically investigate the amplitude and phase characteristics of electromagnetic fields in the projecting ray of a square cophased aperture with a uniform distribution of the field sources. It is shown that a local quasi-plane inhomogeneous wave is formed in the projecting ray. The wave amplitude and power change but insignificantly in the course of propagation up to distances equal to the one half of the distance to the far-field zone boundary of the antenna. The spatial boundaries of the projecting ray are determined.
