ABSTRAKT

The previously described thermometry of propellant flames at atmospheric pressure by Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy (CARS) has been supplemented by the determination of nitric oxide (NO) volume concentrations. The reliability of measurements was tested in a heated cell in the temperature range from 300 K to 1200 K. In a double base propellant flame, the concentration was found to be approximately 14 % near the surface, decreasing to below 5 % at distances larger than 15 mm.
