A COMPOSITE CONICAL SHELL FOR THE STATOR END OF A LARGE TURBOGENERATOR

ABSTRAKT

A composite conical shell for the stator end of a large turbogenerator plays multiple roles in the end winding of a generator, such as reliable fixed and vibration reduction, etc. As an example of designing and manufacturing a composite conical shell of the stator end of a 1000− MW turbogenerator, a virtual prototype model for processing the winding of its machine is established by Pro/E and ADAMS, and its equivalent simplified model with glass fiber-reinforced epoxy resin composites materials is built by ANSYS/Workbench. The matrix materials, reinforced materials, and plies are designed in ACP (ANSYS Composite PrepPost) according to the composite classical lamination theory. The semicone angle of a large conical shell is selected as design variables, and the corresponding natural frequencies and mode shapes are calculated. The optimal semicone angle (22.5°) is obtained by calculation and analysis, which provides a reference and basis for the design and manufacture of a composite conical shell of the stator end of a large turbogenerator.
