Determination of the Value of Algal Food Consumption by Moina macrocopa and Brachionus calyciflorus under Conditions of their Cultivation


Results of the study of the process of nutrition of plankton invertebrates, including Moina macrocopa and Brachionus calyciflorus, by algal food are presented. It has been found that the rate of Chlorella vulgaris monoculture consumption by Moina macrocopa (Cladocera) and Brachionus calyciflorus (Rotatoria) increased with increasing the concentration of algae in the aquatic medium. The optimum food ration of zooplankton organisms under such conditions of their cultivation was determined. It has been found that the intensity of food consumption by Brachionus calyciflorus was higher than that by Moina macrocopa.
