ABSTRAKT
Macrozoobenthos of the Danube water bodies has been studied. It has been found that abundance of the macrophytobenthos severely decreased in recent years. Species belonging to the Caspian faunistic complex gradually disappear from the macrozoobenthos composition, the structure of benthic cenoses is simplified, their production-decomposition indices are lower than those in the Danube River and the Sasyk reservoir. Total degradation of aquatic ecosystems is conditioned by the integrated ecologically unjustified economic utilization of aquatic and biological resources of these water bodies.
