ABSTRAKT

Paper deals with data regarding aquatic communities of the poorly investigated part of the Ukrainian Carpathians – the White Cheremosh River, where the construction of cascade of small HPPs is planned. Recommendations are developed in order to minimize negative environmental impacts using the International evaluation system ESIA, which serves as an effective mechanism of control over the construction and operation of small hydropower plants.
