ABSTRAKT

The aim of the present study is to numerically scrutinize the influence of viscous dissipation, Joule heating, thermal radiation, and suction/injection on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of water-based nanofluids (Ag–water and Cu–water) past a flat stretching sheet with the involvement of porous media. The fundamental partial differential equations (PDEs) are converted into dimensionless ordinary differential equations (ODEs) applying suitable transformations and elucidated numerically via a fourth–fifth-order Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg scheme through a shooting algorithm. The velocity and temperature profiles are portrayed for various values of magnetic parameter, Eckert number, heat generation/absorption parameter, permeability parameter, thermal radiation parameter, and suction/injection parameter. Comparison of solution fields of both Ag–water and Cu–water nanofluids is examined through graphs and tables. It has been examined that increasing value of suction/injection parameter enhances the heat transfer coefficient, while it diminishes with enhancing the porosity parameter. Also, the upshots illustrate that viscous dissipation and thermal radiation parameters have a trend to accelerate the boundary layer thickness.
