## EFFECTS OF HALL CURRENT AND HEAT RADIATION ON FLOW OF A FLUID THROUGH A POROUS MEDIUM SUBJECT TO AN EXTERNAL MAGNETIC FIELD

### ABSTRAKT

In this paper, a theoretical analysis is presented for the steady magnetohydrodynamic flow of a fluid through a porous medium placed over a stretching sheet. The analysis takes into account the effects of Hall current and heat radiation. Thermal conductivity is assumed to vary linearly with temperature. The underlying physics of fluid flow is formulated as a boundary value problem, which consists of a system of partial differential equations subject to a set of boundary conditions. The analysis is performed by using similarity transformation and boundary layer approximation. The problem is treated numerically by developing a suitable finite difference scheme. In order to illustrate the applicability of the theoretical study, a quantitative analysis is made for a specific hemodynamical problem. Computational results for the variation in velocity, temperature, skin friction coefficient, and Nusselt number are presented graphically and in tabular form. The study shows that blood flow increases with the increase in Hall current.
