ANALYSIS OF VARIANTS WITHIN DIFFERENT MODELS OF DIESEL OIL VOLATILIZATION PROCESS USING VARIOUS SOIL MATERIALS

ABSTRAKT

An analysis of variants within different models of diesel oil volatilization process was carried out in this study for various pertinent parameters. Three models were proposed to simulate the volatilization process. Three categories in modeling the volatilization process through the porous soil, namely wind speed, vessel diameter, and pore diameter of the porous soil, were analyzed in detail. The main objective of the current study is to compare these variances in models for each of the three categories and establish conditions leading to convergence or divergence among different models. Isothermal conditions and negligible humidity were assumed in this investigation. A new correlation for the coefficient of volatilization rate was developed in this investigation based on experimental data from the literature. It was shown that for some cases the variances within different models have a negligible effect on the results while for some cases the variations can become significant. The results of this investigation showed an increase in the volatilization rate of diesel oil with an increase in the vessel diameter and wind speed. The volatilization rate coefficient of diesel oil was found to increase with decreasing pore size of porous media and increasing vessel diameter.
