Heat Transfer Problems of Bypass Laminar-Turbulent Transition

Some aspects of bypass laminar-turbulent transition are described. The distributions of local transport coefficients (friction and heat transfer coefficients) are analyzed at the 3.2−7% turbulence and the 1−11.2 relative longitudinal dissipa¬tion scales. Depending on the scales, a few types of the bypass transition (laminar-turbulent and pseudolaminar-quasiturbulent transitions and their combination) were detected. The tendency to the formation of the upper thermal bypass transition, which is characterized by monotonic changes in the heat transfer coefficients along the surface under flow, was verified.
