The Calculation Method for Cyclone Type Dust Collectors

ABSTRAKT

The method of design calculations is proposed to determine total and partial efficiency of the air clearing by the cyclone type dust collectors. Its characteristic feature is the use of a parameter characterizing the intensity of flow curling to evaluate the diameter of dust particles trapped by the cyclone with the efficiency of 50%. This method proposed by Institute of Technical Thermal Physics (ITTP), National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is compared to that proposed by the Research Institute of Gas Industry with the respect of their accuracy in describing the available experimental data. The examples of successful applications of the former method to the problems of aerosol mechanics are also presented.
