Kinetic Adsorption of Water and Carbon Dioxide in Zeolites
ABSTRAKT
In this paper we develop a mathematical model of adsorption kinetic in solid microporous media where the system is neither homogeneous nor isotropic. Fick's law, which considered only diffusion, is modified to cope with the requirements due to adsorbate accumulation and fluctuation effect. Our approach consists of introducing two new terms in Fick's law; the first characterizes the direct adsorption, it depends on the speed average but not on the speed itself, and the second characterizes the fluctuation of the adsorbed quantity with respect to heat dissipation.
