ABSTRAKT

Pultrusion is a manufacturing process for producing continuous lengths of composite materials with constant cross-section area. The primary objective of this study is to improve the quality of the pultruded part by achieving complete reinforcement wet out in the resin-injection pultrusion process. Complete wet out of the composite matrix mainly depends on processing parameters, design parameters, and the injection-chamber length. The present work deals with the impact of design parameters (axial location of injection slot and multiple injection slots) on the minimum resin-injection pressure required to achieve complete wet out along with the associated chamber exit pressure for various resin-injection-chamber lengths.
