ABSTRAKT

A new correlation for natural convective mass transfer coefficients from vertically downward pointing cones embedded in saturated porous media has been developed. The new correlation is expected to be effective in the modified Rayleigh number range 7.9 × 104 < Ral* < 7.8 × 106 and in the Darcy number range 1.088 × 10−6 < Dal < 6.050 × 10−4. The methodology adopted in this study used the limiting diffusion current technique based on cathodic reduction of cupric solution.
