SHIMMY ANALYSIS OF LIGHT AIRPLANE MAIN LANDING GEAR

ABSTRAKT

A method of shimmy analysis of the main landing gear non-swiveling wheel without a shimmy damper based on the use of free vibration frequencies and modes of a gear leg at the wheel axis is proposed. The finite-element method is suggested to find the free vibration modes of the gear leg. The proposed method allows more precise modeling of the wheel/airplane elastic link to be used. The application of the method is illustrated by light-airplane main landing gear shimmy analysis.
