ABSTRAKT

Performance of simplex atomizer has a significant role in determining the quality of the spray. This article reviews the nozzle geometrical constraints, fluid properties, the injection and operating conditions' influence over the air core stability, breakup length, spray cone angle, and Sauter mean diameter. For each parameter investigation, results, regimes, and plots are identified, studied, and discussed. The literature survey signifies the importance of the injection pressure and atomizer constant in controlling the disintegration process. The information in this study can serve as the database for the design of nozzles, employable to both atmospheric and high-pressure applications. This paper intends to provide physical insight into the physics of the atomization process.
