MEASURING AND CONTROLLING PULVERIZED FUEL ON COAL-FIRED PLANT
ABSTRAKT
Improving combustion efficiency of coal-fired power stations is fundamental to reducing emissions, as well as lowering fuel consumption and operating costs. Maldistribution of the fuel between burners is a fundamental problem. The instruments described in this article can be used to overcome this problem by measuring and controlling pulverized fuel distribution (split). Typical data obtained from on-line measurements in a 500-MW coal-fired power plant are presented. Also included are results from closed-loop laboratory experiments showing "split control", with the meters providing on-line PF mass flow measurements.
