ABSTRAKT

A steady, laminar, incompressible, and electrically conducting boundary-layer flow of a viscous fluid past an exponentially stretching sheet is considered with the Hall effect and heat source. The sheet velocity varies as an exponential function of the distance x from the slit. It is assumed that the viscosity and thermal conductivity vary as a linear function of temperature. A strong magnetic field is applied normal to the flow direction, and the influence of the Hall current is not neglected. The magnetic Reynolds number is assumed to be very small, so that the induced magnetic field is negligible. The presence of the Hall current induces cross flow in the z direction, and hence the flow becomes three-dimensional. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The successive linearization method is used to reduce the nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equations into a system of linear differential equations and then the resulting system is solved using the Chebyshev pseudospectral method. The tangential and transverse velocities, as well as the temperature and concentration profiles are computed numerically and demonstrated by graphs. It is observed that the transverse velocity is increasing with the Hall and viscosity parameters. The temperature is reduced as the values of the Hall and viscosity parameters are increasing. The concentration is increasing with increase in the values of magnetic and viscosity parameters.
