Morphofunctional Changes in Vascular Endothelium of Rat Diencephalon in Experimental Ischemia-Reperfusion against the Background of Diabetes Mellitus

ABSTRAKT

The effect of bilateral carotid ischemia-reperfusion on the morphofunctional state of the vascular endothelium in the limbic-hypothalamic complex has been studied. It has been found that in control rats, lower density of endothelial cells in early ischemic-reperfusion period was relative, due to cell swelling, whereas absolute cell density increased on the 12th day. The capillary endothelial cells in all brain structures manifested increased content of total RNA in both periods of observation. Animals with diabetes mellitus, have no early response of the morphofunctional state of endotheliocytes to ischemia-reperfusion,, except for vessels of the ventromedial nucleus of the hypothalamus, and the late response is limited by the growth of RNA content in the cells.
