ABSTRAKT
Objections to the use of CRISPR/Cas9 techniques for gene editing fail to consider that natural reproduction frequently produces serious genetic defects. There is nothing sacred about the human genome that suggests it cannot be improved by correcting mistakes in gametes or embryos prior to reproduction. Our duty is to create the best possible genetically endowed child, and the CRISPR/Cas9 system might help in that pursuit
SCHLÜSSELWÖRTER: CRISPR/Cas9, germline, genetic lottery, Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority
