ABSTRAKT

Pedaling consists of reciprocating muscle activities similar to gait. Recent studies show that pedaling exercise is useful for rehabilitation of stroke patients and other central nervous system disorders. We reviewed studies of the neurophysiological basis of pedaling, pedaling in patients with central nervous system lesions, and the therapeutic application of pedaling exercises to patients with stroke.
